The core of UpLift’s trainers are all certified, and are in their 30s, 40s and 50s, with decades of training and instructing others. Chris Radke is 38 and a mother; Jill Strand is 42 and a mother; and Rick Wood is 58 and looks great for having three kids.

These are all experienced fitness professionals, and both Chris and Jill know what it’s like to get pregnant, deliver, then win the battle with the baby fat.

Uplift's Personal Trainers
Rick Wood is an absolute living encyclopedia of fitness knowledge. He is certified as a personal trainer by the International Sports Science Association (ISSA), also having a Psychology for Health and Fitness Professionals certification. He is 58 and has three sons, all of whom he trained in sports and resistance training since 1976.
Rick has been working out using resistance training for more than 32 years. Over the course of his athletic career, he has competed in boxing, baseball, wrestling, arm wrestling, gymnastics, football, softball, racquetball, car, truck and snowmobile racing.
Chris Radke is a lifelong exerciser, certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is 38 and the mother of two kids.
Chris has 25 years of experience in dance training and competitions, which took her all over the world. She won many dance awards, including National Performing Arts Champion. Her dance skills also helped her win a spot as a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader. She remains an instructor with a local dance club, and burns up the floor with husband Todd.
He is also an avid fisherman and hunter. For many years, he has spent countless hours doing original research into the science of muscular training and sports nutrition. He has a great breadth of experience in helping everyone from young athletes to older women realize their physical potential.
His motto: “Eat for what you are about to do.”
Jill Strand is a lifelong exerciser, certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is 42 and a mother.
She was the top starting pitcher for her Wisconsin high school softball team, leading it to the state tournament her junior and senior years. As an adult, she found her passion in the women’s fitness field.
If you have a question about exercise physiology, you could spend hours trying to look it up or just ask Rick. He is also a trained professional chef, with a sound working knowledge of cutting edge sports nutrition and supplementation. It is largely through his personal expertise that we produced our instructional DVD, “Eating Right” (to Lose Fat and Get Healthy).
Her cheerleading voice comes in handy at son Nathan’s and daughter Courtney’s hockey games. When they’re not busy, the family heads north to the cabin for relaxation and fishing. Chris is passionate about strength training, and she is extremely positive and motivating as a trainer.

Her motto: “Start now, because today is the first day of the rest of your life.”

She enjoys digital photography and computer-based scrap booking, as well as fishing and hunting (her husband forgot the camera when she caught her big musky). She loves riding horses, and just being around them. You’ll also find her at daughter Samantha’s soccer games. Jill has a straightforward, honest, motivating personality as a trainer.

Her motto: “It’s easier than you think, to lose fat and have the shape you want, if you get the right help.”
