Christine Smith, UpLift trainer, is certified as a personal trainer through American Council on Exercise (ACE).
She is a huge advocate of weight training for women. Health and fitness have been a consistent part of her life. She has experience with kettlebells, and is a certified Barre exercise class instructor.
Christine and her husband have two college-aged sons, and are enjoying their first year as empty nesters. She also works as a freelance writer and marketing consultant. Whether she’s playing tennis, weight training, taking a class or riding her bike, Christine is happiest when she’s exercising.
What do you do when you are not at the gym?
In the summer, you can find me on my bike, walking my dog, or on my screen porch with a good book (after a workout, of course). If my kids are around, I take advantage of every minute with them. In the winter, I am generally pouting about being cold, but can sometimes be convinced to slap on skis (cross-country or downhill) to take advantage of our winter wonderland. Fall is my favorite season; I love to walk or drive through fall color.

Favorite songs to work out to?
Good Feeling (Flo Rida), Wild Ones (Flo Rida), Madness (Muse), Call Me Maybe – remix (Carly Rae Jepsen), Too Close (Alex Clare), Hey Mama (Matt Kearney), anything by Maroon 5 or Snow Patrol.
What made you decide to work at UpLift?
Why wouldn’t I want to work at UpLift?! It’s a wonderfully supportive environment of women who share a passion for health and fitness and want to help others achieve their goals. I feel fortunate to be a part of the UpLift community.
Favorite exercise to teach at UpLift?
Lunges on the Smith machine. (This exercise is always so productive for me; it really works those glutes and quads. So I like to share it with others.)
Any tricep exercise (I find that I’m always fighting that sagging underarm, and I’m not alone. So I love to share any exercise that helps tone this troublesome area.)
