What do you do when you are not at the gym?

I’m a mother of 3 boys, so I spend a lot of time at baseball, hockey and soccer games.  I also love to golf, run outside, paddleboard at the cabin, walk our puppy…and of course, practice yoga!  I also enjoy reading, watching movies and relaxing on the patio.

What inspired you to become a yoga teacher?

My love of yoga began over 20 years ago, in a class over the lunch-hour at work.  From there, I was hooked!  With yoga, I found a sense of calmness and peace, like nothing I’d ever experienced before.  Today, yoga is pivotal in helping alleviate the anxiety and stress that often comes with raising children and navigating through everyday life.  Sharing my love of yoga and guiding others to experience strength, flexibility and balance is my focus.

Why do you want to work at UpLift?

I was a member of UpLift for years, before I left and pursued my yoga certification.  UpLift was never very far from my thoughts though.  I love this gym, the trainers’ knowledge and passion, the changing programs, and the sense of community – as members and staff share ideas and successes regularly.  I’m so happy to be part of this amazing place once again!

What inspires you?

At the gym and in yoga classes, I’m inspired by women who are motivated to work hard  and challenge themselves, but at the same time, have a true sense of what feels right in   their bodies and know when make adjustments to avoid injury.
